The Miami Hockey Brotherhood, the Miami University Blue Line Club, and Miami Athletics Sports Marketing are proud to auction the game-worn* You Can Play jerseys from the October 6-7 ice hockey games. The You Can Play Project was founded at Miami University by Brendan Burke and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the You Can Play Project to continue the mission of supporting LGBTQ+ athletes.
The jersey auction began on Friday, October 6, 2017, and will conclude on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
The minimum bid for a jersey is $250. Subsequent bids are accepted in $25 increments. Winning bids above the reserve amount of $250 may qualify for a charitable income tax deduction. A receipt for the amount above the benefit value of the jersey received will be provided to winning bidders. Please consult your tax adviser regarding deductibility.
In-person bids will be taken before games and between periods at the Miami University Blue Line Club booth located on the concourse of Steve “Coach” Cady arena. In-person bids must include your name, your phone number, your maximum bid amount, and your mailing address if the jersey is to be shipped. All in-person bids are final–no bid retractions will be honored.
Email bids may be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can submit as many email bids as you like on a jersey, but only your highest bid will be recorded. Email bids are due no later than 9 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, November 4, 2017. No email bids will be accepted after that deadline. If you submit a bid and desire to lower or cancel your email bid, the email advising us to do so must be received by the email bid deadline. All email bids must include your name, mailing address, phone number, the jersey number you are bidding on and the dollar amount of your bid.
For any schedule changes or additions/modifications to the You Can Play jersey auction, please check the Miami University Blue Line Club website.
Winning bidders will be notified at the conclusion of the auction to arrange payment and receipt of the jersey. Jerseys can be shipped for an additional $14.95 shipping charge that will be added to the cost of the jersey. Mailing address must be provided for shipping. Contact Roseann McGuire at the Goggin Ice Center if you have questions regarding jersey pickup or mailing.
*All jerseys are authentic team-issued although not all jerseys may be game-worn if not all players appear in a game.
